The Committee invite all persons interested in the archaeological study on the history of agriculture in East Asia to join the online conference on October 23rd 2021.
The International Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS) was established in 2020 as a project-based research organization affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kumamoto University, to promote international joint research activities in selected fields.
We have two divisions as follows.

• Division 1: The Division of New Approaches to Theories and Methods of Historical Document and Artifact Analysis
• Division 2: The Division of Research Resource Archives for Interdisciplinary Studies

In the Division1, we aim to establish a new document and artefact analysis and a new historical theory on“agriculture, agricultural history, and agricultural social history” as it concerns East Asia, which conventional historical methods could not sufficiently elucidate.

This time, IRCHSS archaeological researchers will showcase the latest research results on the history of agriculture in East Asia, share new knowledge on methodologies, techniques, analytical methods, etc., and contribute to East Asian agricultural history research development. Therefore, we have planned a research presentation by researchers from four countries. Topics and speakers in the conference are shown on the attached poster, which displays the details and schedule of the conference.

Those who wish to participate need to pre-register online. The participation capacity is 250 people. Participation qualifications are on a first-come, first-served basis.
